The first full episode of Gender Pop is up and ready for your ears!
Kicking things off is the 2021 film Titane with guest James Wright. It's a conversation that takes many twists and turns as we discuss the unique and unexpected ways this movie explores gender between it's two main characters. Perhaps it's an intense one to start with, but I figured it best to dive all the way in and let you all hear what Gender Pop is about and how deep into this topic we go. Don't worry, though, as you hear there are plenty of laughs to be had as we dig into the more absurd aspects of this, and future features films.
What This Is:
Gender Pop is a podcast where your host Carly (that's me, hiii), talks about a specific piece of media chosen by a stellar guest that deals with gender in all its facets. The content of these episodes will contain heavy spoilers and explicit language and sometimes trigger warnings.
A new episode will drop every few weeks and will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music and all their affiliates. If you are interested in being a guest there is a contact form on this very site that will help me get in touch with you!

About The Guest:
James Wright is an English librarian and indie author with a penchant for horror comedy as well as fantasy and sci-fi. My conversations with him were a big inspiration for how this podcast came to be so it's wonderful to have him as the first guest. His thoughts and commentary are always insightful, compelling, and witty so listening to him is a real treat!
He also knows how to bind books which is very fucking cool. You can see what he's all about (and maybe buy a book or 2) at the following link: https://linktr.ee/jameswritessurprisingly
Extras:
Each episode involves a certain level of research so I thought it would be fun to link to the main chunk of what I watched/read to prepare. Nerd alert!
Plus, the song of the episode!
That does it for this episode's blog. Be on the lookout for ones for all future episodes. You are welcome to leave a comment, ask some questions, and even suggestion things to watch/listen to/read for the podcast below. Engagement (the constructive kind) is always welcome.
Thank you for listening and now reading!
